The IKCAS Playbook is a resource for pianists, their musical partners, and their employers. Developed from the 2025–2026 IKCAS TownHall conversations, this document is intended to be shared widely to support best practices for pianists and to increase awareness of the unique needs of our “essential worker” professionals.

Each year, CollabFest opens with a keynote address from one of our field’s most celebrated artists and thought leaders. These inspiring talks offer personal reflections, professional insights, and generous wisdom drawn from a lifetime of collaboration at the highest level.

These addresses are a treasured resource for our community—may they continue to inspire your artistry and your collaborative spirit.

Open forum sessions as part of a larger conversation about the current state of the profession and towards best practices for the collaborative professional.

IKCAS Members have access to video recordings of IKCAS meetings on topics covering IKCAS’ areas of focus: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Freelancers, Staff Pianists, and more.

Collaborators in the Time of Corona included monthly meetings from March to September 2020 to support collaborators during this challenging time of distancing and to provide them with the resources to thrive in the new normal.

IKCAS members have access to hours of video sessions on technology, emotional resilience for collaborators, planning for remote learning, “Visits with Visionaries” with collaborative leaders Arlene Shrut and Chris Foley and the grand finale session, the “Star-Studded Roundtable,” featuring the collaborative piano luminaries Jean Barr, Anne Epperson, Margo Garrett and Alan L. Smith.

As remote collaboration and performing has become a necessity during the coronavirus pandemic and will most likely remain in the industry, IKCAS members have access to this collected list of technology platforms, setups and resources, for collaborative pianists, by collaborative pianists.

IKCAS Members have access to this curated list of collaborative piano resources. This wealth of materials was created for summer 2021’s Collaborators During the Time of Corona sessions.

Join our member-only mentoring sessions with Anne Epperson and Ann Baltz, moderated by IKCAS President Elvia Puccinelli. Share your materials or questions and receive feedback from our CollabFest 2025 master clinicians!
